Red River Parish

Red River Parish-Coushatta. 

Various projects.

Architects: William T. Nolan, Ulisse M. Nolan, Alexander W. Norman.

Completed: 1939-1940.  Cost:  $325,590 (total cost for eight projects, four selected)

¨      Administrative building, Red River Parish School Board; contractor was F.D. Welch.

¨      Martin High School; contractor was Humble & Humble.

¨      Black training school; appears the original 1939 building was either abandoned or superseded by a modern structure known as the Springfield Education Center. Contractor was

¨      Hanna Junior High School, Hwy 1; abandoned, (still standing but owned by a private individual and the surrounding fence does not allow access).

Historian’s Note:  The black training school was called Industrial School and built in 1939.
