GREAT VIRTUAL SCAVENGER HUNT

Welcome to the

Great Virtual Scavenger Hunt

brought to you by  the CADDO PARISH COMMISSION

Learn about the Great Depression for its 80th anniversary by completing this challenge. 

Answer questions about historical venues, the book The Grapes of Wrath, video clips of elder interviews and hobo signs found elsewhere on this website, and information about our events. 

Complete the questions on all 21 parishes.  Why not start the scavenger hunt by clicking on your own parish!

Starting the Hunt!

Step 1:  Log In by clicking on the link above and create your own user name and password.

Step 2:  Once you are inside the GREAT VIRTUAL SCAVENGER HUNT you can play as long as you like and can replay each parish as many times as you like.  You can logout and login as many times as you need to complete the HUNT to your satisfaction.  When you feel like you have done your best at completing the HUNT are ready to submit complete the last step below.

Step 3:  After you are logged in then scroll down the page to see the map of the 21 parishes participating in the TRIUMPH OVER TRAGEDY Project.  Begin the HUNT by clicking on any parish on the map.

Step 4:  Once you select a Parish then you may begin to answer the Eleven (11) questions related to that Parish and the Project.  Some questions have HINTS for you to link to but you can always go to the EYE20CREATIVECORRIDOR.COM Website for help if you need.  Sometimes you may have to do a google search on the topic to find an answer to a question.  Each question is designed so that you can find the correct answer with a little effort.

Step 5:  Once you have completed all the questions on a Parish, you may either “Save without submitting” – which means that you can go back and change answers later, or “Submit all and finish” – which means that you have finished the quiz are ready to see how you did.  Once you “Submit all and finish” the quiz for that Parish will change, so if you decide to go back and try again with that Parish be prepared to see a different layout of questions and answers.

Step 6:  After you Submit your answers then you will be shown a screen that gives you a grade so you can see how many questions you answered correctly.  If you aren’t satisfied with your results and would like to try again with that Parish simply click “START AGAIN” and you can try again.  (Remember:  the questions and answers will be changed if you decide to do this).

Step 7:  When you have finished all steps and completed the questions for each of the 21 Parishes, Submit your quiz.

You will receive an email notifying you that your answers have been received.

The GOAL of the GREAT VIRTUAL SCAVENGER HUNT is to engage participants in questions that pertain to historical venues photographed and outlined in the Great Catalogue, the book The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, video and audio clips from elder interviews and the documentary found on the website, hobo signs, and information concerning the events which can be found using the website.  By involving every aspect of the TRIUMPH OVER TRAGEDY project, not only will participants learn about the artists and events but will also gain education about the Great Depression/New Deal Era in North Louisiana.

Staff and Affiliates of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, Bossier Arts Council, and Northeast Regional Arts Council, along with those directly associated with the Eye 20 Creative Corridor, are prohibited from participating in the GREAT VIRTUAL SCAVENGER HUNT.

The Eye 20 Creative Corridor reserves the right to deny participation or disqualify participants who they deem do not qualify or do not follow the rules as determined and listed above.
